New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) is a private research university with two main campuses in New York—one in Old Westbury, on Long Island; and one in Manhattan. Additionally, it has a cybersecurity research lab and a biosciences, bioengineering lab in Old Westbury, as well as campuses in Arkansas, United Arab Emirates, China, and Canada.
NYIT offers a full range of undergraduate majors, plus master's and doctoral programs. The Institute currently offers four doctoral degree programs, and has plans of offering more doctoral degree programs in the near future. NYIT is the birthplace of entirely 3D CGI films. As of 2020, two Turing Award winners have been affiliated with the university.

Full Admission: The following minimum scores required for full admission to undergraduate and graduate programs are:
IELTS score: 6.0
TOEFL (iBT) score: 79
Pearson PTE score: 53
Duolingo English Test score: 105
Undergraduate or Graduate English as a Second Language (ESL) Pathway Admission: Students who do not meet the full admission English proficiency requirements can be admitted to an ESL pathway program. The following scores are required to be admitted to an Undergraduate or Graduate ESL pathway program:
IELTS scores: below 6.0 (5.0-5.5)
TOEFL (iBT) scores: 41-78
Pearson PTE scores: 36-52
Duolingo English Test score: 70
Students with these lower scores will be required to take non-credit English as a Second Language (ESL) courses, and will have the option to pursue credit-bearing academic courses alongside the required ESL program. Students whose registration does not include the required English course(s) may be deregistered from other courses.
Pathway admissions requirements are applicable to pathway eligible programs. Pathway program eligibility is program specific and determined by the individual academic departments.
